Cathedral "The Assumption" - Pazardzhik
Cathedral "Assumption" is the emblem of Pazardzhik. The church is an imposing building with unique architecture built of pink Rhyolite. The temple was founded in 1836 and a pseudo-basilica with three entrances. Belief is that the dimensions of the temple because of inventive mind of Bulgarian Christians. At the time that the church was built by Ottoman rulers allowed the construction of the church, provided that it is not larger than a mosque. Turkish mayor allowed the Bulgarians to build a church as big as a cowhide.
