Hissar town was one of the few environmentally friendly cities in Bulgaria with well-maintained parks, greenery and many mineral dig.
The resort of Hissar is situated in central Bulgaria, on the southern slopes of the mountain range of Central Mountain at an altitude of 360 m, 40 km north of Plovdiv.
Archaeological studies reveal that the mineral springs near Hissar town was 5000 years BC Much later, the hot springs, is set Thracians and Romans after them. In 293 the Roman emperor Diocletian visited the village, surrounding it with a wall. The city gets its name Diocletianopolis.
