There’s no doubt Sinemorets is the heavenly spot on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The green slopes of the Strandzha mountains, the silvery unspoilt beaches, the crystal-water bays offer the most idyllic setting to unwind from stress and strain of the busy city life. The remoteness from city bustle and unique scenery ensure a relaxing and unforgettable stay. The southernmost beaches of Bulgaria are here.

Sinemorets is situated on a peninsula 6 km to the south of the holiday resort Ahtopol and 90 km to the southeast of the city of Bourgas. The old names of the village are Galadzaki and Kalandzha. In 1934 it was renamed to Sinemorets. The access to the village was greatly limited in the past due to its closeness to the Bulgarian-Turkish border. In 1990 this restriction was lifted and tourists can freely visit it nowadays. Sinemorets is provided with electric network, water supply and sewerage system as well as a water purification plant. The telephone services are all digital and there is also cable TV here. It can accommodate over 1000 tourists in hotels, private lodgings and holidays homes. The local church with patron saint St. George is situated in the westerly part of the village where the center of the old Greek hamlet used to be once. The church has been restored through private funds and donations and is open to visitors today. Particular interest here might present the icon of St. Modest, patron saint of farmers and shepherds.

To the north of the village the mouth of Veleka, the purest river in Bulgaria, lies. Veleka rises from a number of Karst springs in an area named 'Gyortepe' in the Turkish part of the Strandzha mountains to flow into the Black Sea by a firth.

The river presents a variety of flora and fauna. 32 fish species have been found so far, some of which enlisted in the Red Book of Bulgaria of species endangered by extinction. Unique flowers under the protection of law might also be seen there, such as the yellow water-lily and the Caucasian cowslip. The bamboo and the alder, the only deciduous tree with cone fruit, add to the uniqueness of the scenery. Among the fish species the chub abd the barbel are predominant.

The total length of the river equals to 147 km, 25 of which are on the Turkish territory. A 10 km section is navigable, stretching from the river mouth to the 'Tzarsko Kladenche' area.

The most valuable assets to Sinemorets are its beaches and sea with limpid and warm waters June through September.

The central beach named 'Butamiata' features a broad coastline with a forest behind it. If you find it too populated to your taste, there are two more beaches to the south which have preserved their unspoilt and wild nature: 'Lipite' (1.5-2 km from Sinemorets) and the smaller 'Listi' (2 more km southwards). Wild deer can be seen walking undisturbed over these places in summer.

Last comes the natural reserve 'Silistar' (6 km from Sinemorets). No more beaches are to be found to the Bulgarian-Turkish border after 'Silistar'. The shallow warm sea and the fine quality of the sand here make it much popular and liked among tourists.

Another option to holiday makers would be the beach at the mouth of the Veleka River. The narrow strip of land between the river and the sea, the magnificent view across the wide open bay and the deep blue sea all contribute to the uniqueness of scenery here. It’s a much preferred location to those who would like to enjoy the charm and quiet of nature.

Villa Victoria is a newly built four storey private hotel only 50 m away from the forest of the 'Silistar' natural reserve. The villa is featuring nine nice rooms each equipped with a private bath facility, a doorway and a spacious terrace; a bedroom suite plus a single bed; as well as a refrigerator and cable TV to further ensure the comfort of its guests.

The restaurant offers fresh and delicious food, various fish and barbecued meat, excellent appetizers and aperitifs.
