Etropole City is located along the river Iskar in the foothills of Etropole valley, where the highest point is Mount Baba (1787 m). The settlement was founded in VII-VI century BC The Thracian tribe tribali, an important crossroad, which is connected in ancient Macedonia and Thrace to the Danube.
