Devetashka cave is located 15 km from the town of Lovech and 7 km from the Republic to the river Osam. The cave is reached by a path beginning after the turnoff for Lovech. In 1921 the cave was discovered. It has a length of 2442 m, area 20,400 m², and the height is 60 meters. The spacious hall, which has an area of 2,400 m², is located 40 meters from the entrance. It has two branches in the cave - in one flowing river, and the other is dry. Habitual caves and Devetashka has stalactites and stalagmites. The cave was discovered a bronze application from the 5th century BC. In raft "Altar" were found remains of neolota included in the exhibition of "Vasil and Atanas Atanasov" - a museum collection. The cave is famous for its residents and their diversity, due in June and July, when the breeding season is closed to visitors. Among them are 12 species of amphibians, which are protected birds of 82 species, 13 of which were included in the Red Book, 34 species of mammals and of course bats, 15 species for which the cave is one of the most important refuges for hibernatsiyav Europe.
In the past Devetashka cave was preserved food from the state reserve, after which it classified military site.
Another interesting fact is that in 2011 there were filmed some scenes from the film The Expendables 2, where participation into many Hollywood stars.
Today, although one hundred tourist sites in Bulgaria, the cave formed no infrastructure, but is open to visitors.
