Lukovit Thracian treasure

Lukovit Thracian treasure was discovered accidentally by a plowman in 1953 near the town. Republic. It consists of 15 silver vessels with unique craftsmanship, more of the objects in certain places are gilded. The objects of the treasure is divided into two groups - one group of accessories to horse harnesses, wafer trim horses and horsemen, and the second group is 9 vessels, including 5 vials 3 jugs and 1 cup. Open Loukovit treasure dates back to the second half of the IV c. BC. Places where gold vessels are to highlight images and to be - unique decorating them. Emblazonry of Fiala and bowl with various ornaments depict various plants, heads of people and beautiful design elements. In the tabs are visible images of various animals: lion, griffin, dog, deer, horse and many others. Some of them can be seen horsemen that are common to the ancient art of the Thracians. Two flakes of Lukovit Treasure is an image of a lion attacking a deer, the deer had fallen to his knees under the lion. In another plate seen two horsemen pursuing lions that are overtaken by their horses. These scenes depicted by the ancient Thracians in Lukovit treasure want to show us a social sense. The scenes are closely related to the majesty of kingship. All Thracian rulers by legends tried to subdue his subjects and to suggest that their origin is majestically divine. Thus they made them serve them in obedience. Loukovit treasure can be seen in the Historical Museum of Lovech., Where it is stored.
