Strandja is a mountain with a rich history, preserved the traces of life and culture of ancient peoples who inhabited this mythical region. The mountain offers the opportunity to visit many architectural monuments - the mound necropolis and pagan shrines, some of which, unfortunately, are in poor condition, and unless urgent measures are taken to restore them, most of them will be irretrievably lost. One of the ancient monuments preserved in good condition, is mound complex in Propada located 3 km northwest of the town of Malko Tarnovo. Falling is a great model of Thracian cult architecture, consisting of over 40 tombs - flat cyst graves and six stone tombs located 1 km. length and 60 m. wide. Passes through the complex ancient Thracian road connecting Strandja with ancient Constantinople. The mound complex was opened in 1979 and is dated to the IV - I c. Etc.. Chr. A kind of "city of the dead" has functioned during the Hellenistic and Roman times to the fourth century BC. In some built of marble graves are old coin placed under the tongue of the dead to be able to pay Charon - the ferryman of the underworld for passage through the underground river Styx ("Haronoviya obols"). In the area found four different types of tombs and graves cyst, unique in the way of construction - are used methods characteristic of much - early Thracian megalithic culture of the early Iron Age. Propada to be reached relatively easily, the old asphalt road to Malko Tarnovo to the edge of town leads to the forest road, climbing a high hill crossing oak forest. The road is marked with tourist information boards that will be easy to navigate.
