National Exhibition of crafts and arts in Oreshak an exhibition complex built in 1971 on an area of 50 acres and includes 9 exhibition halls with a total area of 4200 square meters It is unique in the country and it can be seen unique items of folk arts and crafts made by artisans from across the country.
In the exhibition complex is carried out numerous international events and exhibitions, competitions are organized in ceramics, as well as exhibitions of art students from secondary schools of art at the Ministry of Culture.
For groups over 10 people on request, in the exhibition are offered:
demonsttratsiya of crafts - pottery, woodcarving, weaving;
demonstration cooking Troyan plum brandy
and tasting of four types of Troyan plum brandy.
In the exhibition complex can buy items of folk arts and crafts: pottery, carvings, textiles, metal products, knives, and Troyan plum produced by Winery Trojan.
Every last Saturday of September at the National Exhibition of crafts and arts festival is held on the traditional plum brandy and Trojan. Activities include demonstrations of cooking brandy and wine tasting, cooking and tasting plum jam, plum brandy sales, save, prunes.
The tradition of distilling brandy started in nearby Troyan Monastery and therefore the Trojan label depicts a plum monastery. Already in the mid 18th century and originated the tradition of the monastery's patron saint's day - 15 August (Assumption), to be held four days a crafts fair. This tradition continues today.
