Arapovo Monastery "Holy Sunday" is unique because it is the only monastery in Bulgaria built during the years of Ottoman rule in Bulgaria. There is a legend which says that the water of the monastery by monastery spring cured the wife of the local ruler Arap Bey, and he gratefully donated - land near the springs with healing water and ordered to build a monastery. The monastery is built on open ground in the field. Originally founded as a monastic dormitory near the holy spring, in the period from 1856 to 1863 in the cloisters there were monks.
Hagia Sunday is a stone building, lined with stone blocks, the dome is held by six stone columns and the floor is entirely of marble. The iconostasis in the altar and four small icons at the columns are the work of talented master Uzunov. The murals were created during the Renaissance period and have been painted by the famous Bulgarian artist Georgi Ganchov - Zografina, good friend and associate of the Apostle of Freedom - Vasil Levski. Here for the first time depicts the life and work of the holy Saints Cyril and Methodius. The most valuable icon is of St. Mary, because it is considered that it is miraculous.
