"Silkosia" is the first reserve in Bulgaria, located in Burgas area between the villages of Bulgari and Kosti located in Strandja Mountain. 1933 was declared a reserve, it is the best - the old protected area in Bulgaria. Its old name was "Upper Elitsa" and has an area of 396 hectares of land. Passes through the picturesque Veleka, whose coast is covered with beautiful vegetation. Here the vegetation is diverse, there are over 260 interesting species of plants, some of which are characteristic of other geographical areas. In the reserve there are rare plants that are found only here from Europe, the best known is the Strandja periwinkle and wild medlar. Impression forests of eastern beech and oak. There are over 50 species of animals / fish, mammals ivlechugi / some of them are protected species. The swamps are found - Iberian and Hermann's tortoise, otter and zhaltokoremnikat, there are many snakes. On this beautiful protected area and other birds nest.
