Neophyte Rilski and Nikola Benin as his secular name was born and raised in Bansko. He is the founder of the Bulgarian education and has dedicated his life to science and culture.
West University is the creator of the first Bulgarian grammar, studied iconography, and in later became abbot of Rila monastery. In 1981 to commemorate the centenary of the death of West University, his house is a museum dedicated to him. House of the famous Revival was built in the 18th century.
Fortified with imposing stone walls of a building is typical of that time architecture. In 1967 the house was declared an architectural monument. Family fort is two-storey house in the middle, which is hiding with several entrances and exits to which can be reached from different parts of the house. On the first floor are the kitchen, basement and rooms in which the hosts have seen their livestock. Today the barn walls are painted with murals acquainted with our family tree of West University. Part of the second floor was converted into a school and in the other room the family lived. This impression will make non-standard size doors, this is a feature of ancient bathing houses. The doors are so low that even a person of average height will hardly pass through the door without being bent. It is believed that construction of the lower door is not arbitrary, this was done for a visit by a Turkish home, he bows to the head steward when he goes into his property.
Large porch connects the house to the economic part. Before the announcement of Benito House, as it is known among the citizens of Bansko, a museum, it has been maintained and guarded by relatives of the famous artist and this house has preserved its authentic appearance. Today there are at sequenced materials acquainted with our long work of the first Bulgarian encyclopedic.
