Reserve Kormisosh

Kormisosh is a reserve located in the Rhodope Mountains. Inside its territory is the Red Stone, which is a large rock wall. It is one of the places where you can see many wild goats. Remains of an ancient Thracian sanctuary are found on the top of the Red Stone. The flora of the reserve is very diverse. A significant number of higher breeds have been established there, many of which are part of the Red Book of Bulgaria. In the Kormisos Reserve, the animal world is also extremely rich. Many mammals are also present. In the reserve there are the largest populations of brown bear, wolf and red deer in Bulgaria. Among the species that are found there are wild boar, mouflon, chamois, deer and deer. In recent years there has been a rapid increase in the number of wolves living in the reserve. Near Kormisosh there is a kennel for brown bears, where the animals are fenced and live under conditions very close to their usual habitat.
