 Bagpipe Festival is held in the village of Gela at the height of the summer season in August. It has become a tradition and attracts many visitors each year. They enjoy the performances of experienced pipers and magnificent views of the Rhodopes. Songs Krashno people bagpipe melodies resound Rhodope Mountains for two days as the last council. Many visitors choose to stay outdoors under the stars in a tent. With a capacity of 500 tents is the base camp. It is Ilinden hills of Karluk - Rhodope ridge. From there a magnificent panoramic view of the Rhodope forests and fields. There are three age groups, which held bagpipe festival - 14 years to 20 and over 20 years. Bagpipe festival is a competition traditionally and generally starts in the morning and continues until the run who want to express themselves. The program is traditionally practiced teaching bagpipe bagpipers from masters that give free lessons to those willing to learn.
