For native Chirpan great poet and politician Peyo Yavorov became very proud of his house is now a museum, which attracts many of our city and foreign tourists. Open for visits 31oktomvri 1954 on the occasion of 40th anniversary of his death and is open year round. Museum is located in the city center, the house was built prez1973 years spacious hall, which uses a rich exhibition of documents, photographs, objects associated with the poet and the age in which he lives, home and monitored his creative path. Since its birth in the old Chirpan and school years in Plovdiv, creative wandering and struggle for oppressed Bulgarians from Macedonia and Thrace, his love with it two remarkable women, Mina Todorova and Laura Karavelova and tragic end to a successful professional interrupted progress. Poet left a bright trace in Bulgarian literature, with many beautiful poems coming out of the heart and soul. Exhibited authentic belongings of family portraits, personal effects and original editions of the poet. Definitely among the exhibits are the statue of "Mother of Macedonia" donated to the museum. Very valuable is the extensive archive of literature to the museum. To honor the poet and to bow before his great talent in Chirpan every year a festival of literature and the arts. Traditional cultural celebrations held during the first days of January and every five years served Yavorova National Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement to deserving authors proved with their works.
Near the museum is the art gallery Nikola Manev, named after its founder. The surrounding area is the oldest monastery in Europe, "Athanasios" together three sites are listed in hundred tourist sites in Bulgaria.
