 Pride for the residents of Etropole a monastery "Holy Trinity", whose foundations were laid in the 12th century. The monastery is located about 5 km from the city and was declared an architectural, artistic and historical monument. Near the monastery is the beautiful waterfall "Varovitets." In the 16th and 17th century monastery Etropole active literature, calligraphy and painting school, specimens of which are set out in the cloister in the divisional special exhibition "Etropolska literary school." An interesting fact is that the patron icon of the monastery - "Trinity" is considered the first in our medieval icon, which is signed by the artist who painted it - a painter Nedyalko from Lovech. The icon was completed in 1598g. The monastery had been hiding and Vasil Levski, hiding is preserved and can be seen by visitors.
