House - House Museum Sarafkina

One of the interesting places in the old capital Veliko Tarnovo is Sarafkina house on the street "Gurko". The house was built in 1861 and was the workplace and residence of Dimo ​​Sarafina. The house bears the name of his famous wife Anastasia Sarafkina - Sarafkina house.

1965 is a monument of culture, which has national significance. In 1981 Sarafkina house became a museum, which is facing various ethnographic exhibitions. The house was built on a steep slope, so the southern part of the Yantra River is five storey and north - from the street "Gurko" - two floors.

 The entrance to the street "Gurko" has a large wooden door that leads to the entrance hall. On one side there is a staircase to the lower three floors where there are different rooms, warehouses and cellars. On the south side of the first floor just above the river has a spacious terrace. Representative rooms are located on the other two floors. On the fourth floor of the house is a large hall near it are several smaller rooms. From the hall you can go to the last floor wooden staircase that begins with decorative folding door and railings of wrought iron. The last floor is a gallery. The ceiling of the hall is made with beautiful carvings, and over the windows in the vestibule has made interesting rocker motifs.

The fourth and fifth floor is an exposition that shows initiatives of Bulgarian folk arts of the late XIX - early XX century in this area. In different rooms it can see a collection of interesting - pottery: Kettle, bowls, pitchers, bowls, cups, pavuri, dishes, home iconostasis and icons, works of blacksmith craft - candlesticks, scissors, scales, padlocks, carved chests, chests , robin, musical instruments. Tourists have the opportunity to see beautiful handmade textiles - towels, towels, rugs, towels, tablecloths, cloths belts, homemade woven and embroidered pillows, male and female costumes - dress and men's black suit. Along with this there is a large collection of gold and silver ornaments. They can see the different ritual breads prepared for different occasions and family celebrations.
