Виж всички забележителностиNational Anthropological Museum is located in our city, "Tsarigradsko road" № 73, next to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is one of the museums in the BAS system. Created in March 2007, due to the great interest caused by the traveling exhibition "Man in the past." Prof. Yordan Yordanov - director of the museum is one of the few scientists anthropologists in the world and the only country that makes the restoration of a person's skull. In the museum you can see the reconstructed images of the people who lived on our land in different historical eras. Museum has a national charnel place where all anthropological material found in archaeological excavations. Scientists and researchers using this database to study people who lived from ancient times in the land of Bulgaria. Exposure Anthropological museum is arranged in chronological order - Prehistory, Antiquity, Middle Ages and Renaissance, as visitors get acquainted with various medical and religious practices / example - artificial deformation of the skull, symbolic and real trepanation / typical household population lived in our land.
One of the most interesting exhibits in the museum are restored images of the Bulgarian Tsars Kaloyan (1168 - 1207 years) and Samuel (not known - 1014), Zahari Stoyanov, Hristo Botev, George Washington - prominent fighters for the liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman rule, and others. The museum also has several reproductions of graves and lying in their bodies - application type "Hocker" (in fetal position) and Christian (with folded hands on his chest).
