Vassiliovska Mountain

Vassiliovska mountain stretches in Northern Bulgaria, Lovech and Vidin. The mountain is the highest of the entire Predbalkan.Izvisyava inside the Middle Fore between major rivers Vit, Beli Vit, Osam and White Fender.

Somewhere slopes and steep, sloping and elsewhere. It is connected to Troyan mountain of Stara Planina. The length and up to 38 km. And width of 8 to 14 km. The highest peak is Vasilyov peak (1490 m.), The other peaks in the mountain are - Kuluruz and Treskavets located north of Republic resort. The mountain was built from limestone and sandstone, there are many caves, some of them - Gradezhnishka and warm. Cold winter and cool summer. Forests are hornbeam, durmast and beech, mountain has a variety of herbs. And inside are many villages Shipkovo is famous for its mineral springs and Ribaritza is an excellent place to rest.

Since 2005, part of Vasilyovska Mountain is a protected area for various species of birds.

It is easily passable mountain and east of Mount Vasilyov is hut "Vasilyov" which is the starting point for other parts of the mountain and the south of the Balkan Mountains.
